Teaching Assistant - Supporting Pupils with Trauma in Camden

A welcoming primary school in Camden Borough, NW London, is looking for an empathetic and proactive Teaching Assistant to support two siblings across Year 2 and Year 6. These children have experienced trauma, which has affected their behaviour and emotional well-being. The role requires someone who can provide consistent, nurturing support and help them re-engage positively with their learning.

Key Responsibilities for the Teaching Assistant:
  • Provide 1:1 support for two pupils with emotional and behavioural needs, splitting your time between the Year 2 and Year 6 classes.
  • Work collaboratively with class teachers to implement personalised strategies that promote emotional regulation and academic engagement.
  • Foster a trusting and encouraging relationship with the children to support their personal growth.
  • Use patience and creativity to adapt learning activities and manage challenging behaviour effectively.
