About Us:

We are working with a small and friendly primary school in Bermondsey, Southwark that is looking for a Teaching Assistant. The school is looking for a proactive and experienced Teaching Assistant to support SEN pupils in Year 1 and Year 5. The successful individual will need experience in supporting pupils with Autism and have a calm persona. Having a sporty background or an interest in sport is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the class teacher where required.
  • Support two pupils on a 1:1 basis
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities.
  • Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Provide feedback to pupils in relation to their progress and achievement.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience: Previous experience working in a Primary School
  • Knowledge: Understanding of Autism
  • Desirable: Sports background
