Veritas Education have an amazing opportunity at an OFSTED good school that are looking to hire a teaching assistant for a KS1 classroom to start as soon as possible until the end of the academic year (with the view to go permanent for the right teaching assistant). This could be the ideal role for a graduate seeking teaching experience before teacher training or an experienced teaching assistant looking to further their career in a growing and thriving organisation.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A TEACHING ASSISTANT
Teaching Assistant support for Pupils
- Support pupils to make good academic progress, under the direction of the teacher and Inclusion leader
- Set challenging and demanding expectations and promote self-esteem and independence
- Implement group or 1:1 interventions to support pupils who have emotional or social barriers to learning
- Establish constructive relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and setting high expectations
- Promote the inclusion and acceptance of all pupils
- Provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement under guidance of the teacher
Teaching Assistant Support for Teachers
- Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans and assist with the display of pupils' work
- Use strategies, under the direction of the teacher, to support pupils to achieve learning goals
- Discuss with the teacher how learning activities are to be organised and what their own support role will be
- Monitor pupils' responses to learning activities and accurately record and feedback to the teacher as directed
QUALIFICATIONS FOR TEACHING ASSISTANT
Desirable for a teaching assistant
- An honours degree (preferably Upper Second) or equivalent
