About your role as a Teaching Assistant

  • As a Teaching Assistant, you will have skills and knowledge in primary education. You will support and assist the pupils, either in groups or individually, as well as the class teacher. Your other responsibilities will include:
  • To establish and maintain positive relationships with pupils, treating them with respect and care.
  • To encourage independent learning amongst the pupils.
  • To reinforce learning objectives and outcomes.
  • To help pupils record their work appropriately.
  • To enhance study and organisational skills in the pupils.
  • To keep the pupils focused and motivated.
  • To demonstrate good practice.
  • To boost the pupils' confidence and self-esteem.

What you will need to succeed ** Experience working within either a Primary classroom** Good behaviour management and organisational skills ** You need to be flexible and willing to travel around the Westminster area** You must hold a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for a DBS through Hays What you will get in return At Hays, we strive to offer you a personal service, and you will work closely with your own Specialist Consultant who truly listens to your requirements.
