About the Role: SANZA Teaching Agency is excited to offer an opportunity for a nurturing and enthusiastic Reception Class Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming 2-form entry primary school in Southwark. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting children in Year 3 in a classroom particularly those with special educational needs (SEN).

This position is perfect for someone who is passionate and experienced working with SEN children, ensuring they have a positive and engaging experience whilst in school.

Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with special educational needs in Year 3 as a Teaching Assistant
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs).
  • Support children with a range of SEN, including speech and language delays, autism, and developmental delays as a Teaching Assistant
  • Assist in delivering engaging and sensory-focused activities tailored to the needs of the children.
  • Create a positive, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment as a Teaching Assistant
  • Monitor the progress of SEN students and provide feedback to staff and parents.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN children, ideally within the EYFS or early primary settings.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as a Teaching Assistant
  • Relevant qualifications (such as NVQ/CACHE Level 2 in Childcare or SEN) are desirable but not essential.
