Your new companyMy client's team of ecologists work throughout the UK to deliver a diverse range of challenging and exciting projects that benefit their clients, biodiversity and society.To meet growing project workload and help design and apply new approaches to work, they are looking for an enthusiastic Ecologist to work with their London and South East team.You will have the opportunity to contribute to nationally significant and high-profile projects, with many of our projects winning awards for biodiversity enhancements, innovation, and knowledge sharing.Their ecology team also won the inaugural CIEEM Large-Scale Consultancy of the Year Award in 2018 and has been highly commended in the same award category each year thereafter.Your new role

  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Planning, coordinating and undertaking field surveys; analysing and interpreting survey results.
  • Ecological Clerk of Works.

What you'll need to succeed

  • A degree in ecology or a closely related field (other equivalent higher education qualifications considered)
  • Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM), they will cover membership costs.
  • Field Identification Skills Certificate (FISC) Level 3 or above (desirable), or be able to demonstrate that skills are equivalent to this.
  • Strong protected species survey skills
  • Level 1 or Level 2 survey licence for bats (desirable).
  • Protected species survey licence(s) are desirable but not essential.
  • Working knowledge and experience of UK Habitat survey, habitat condition assessments, and the Defra Biodiversity Metric. Demonstrable experience of undertaking Biodiversity Net Gain assessments (desirable).
  • Strong collaborative behaviours to interface with multi-disciplinary teams and other stakeholders.
  • A full UK/EEC driving licence.
