We are seeking an experienced Organisational Development Consultant to provide expert consultancy across multiple directorates. The role requires collaborating with leaders and HR Business Partners to diagnose and address organisational challenges, particularly in areas such as management practices, team dynamics, culture, and climate. This is a dynamic opportunity for someone with a strong background in organisational development, change management, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with leaders and HR partners to understand organisational needs and priorities.
  • Diagnosis and Analysis: Work with leadership teams to diagnose challenges and identify areas for improvement.
  • Design and Implementation: Design and implement tailored interventions to enhance management practices and team performance.
  • Change Management: Advise and coach managers and leaders on change management processes to drive successful organisational transformation.
  • Facilitation: Lead group sessions and workshops aimed at improving team dynamics and organisational culture.
  • Data Analysis: Gather and analyse data to inform strategies and measure the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside other consultants, learning and development practitioners, and HR professionals to deliver integrated solutions.

Key Tasks Include:

  • Gather and analyse feedback from staff to inform decision-making.
  • Co-design and implement interventions to improve performance, employee experience, and organisational climate.
  • Support leaders in overcoming resistance to change and promoting positive cultural shifts.
  • Assess leadership capabilities and recommend suitable development interventions.
  • Promote wellbeing literacy across the organisation and embed regular wellbeing practices.
  • Develop and promote participation in corporate management and mentoring programmes.
  • Advise on the embedding of new working practices, including reflective practice and effective supervision.

Corporate Responsibilities:

  • Contribute actively to the delivery of strategic priorities, fostering a 'one organisation' approach.
  • Maintain positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational goals.
  • Promote equality, diversity, and inclusivity across all functions and ensure non-discriminatory service delivery.
  • Support organisational change through effective communication, engagement, and review processes.
  • Encourage innovation, sustainability, and accountability across all levels of the organisation.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and welfare policies at work.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Organisational Development, HR, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced CIPD qualification is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience in organisational development, ideally in the public sector (though not essential).
  • Certifications: Professional certifications in organisational development, change management, or coaching are advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

Strong expertise in organisational development principles and change management.

Proven coaching skills for middle managers and senior leaders.

Excellent facilitation skills for group sessions and workshops.

Ability to analyse data and create actionable insights to drive organisational improvement.

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proven collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.

Technologically proficient in Microsoft 365 applications.

Flexibility and adaptability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
