About the Role:Long Term Futures is seeking an experienced and dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join a forward-thinking secondary school in Newham, London. Working closely with Heads of Year and classroom teachers, you will play a vital role in supporting students both in and out of class to ensure their behaviour and academic engagement improve.

This position involves a combination of 1:1 mentoring, small group sessions, and academic support, requiring excellent subject knowledge and the ability to connect with and inspire students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide targeted support to students with behavioural challenges, ensuring they remain engaged in their education
  • Work closely with Heads of Year and teachers to implement strategies that re-engage students in learning
  • Deliver small group sessions focused on improving behaviour, social skills, and academic progress
  • Offer tailored 1:1 support to students who require additional guidance throughout the school week
  • Build positive relationships with students, fostering resilience and motivation
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of interventions designed to improve outcomes for students

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience working with secondary school students in a behaviour or mentoring role
  • Strong subject knowledge across core subjects to support students academically
  • Confidence in working with challenging behaviour and implementing effective strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and staff
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

Additional Information:

  • Full-time role, Monday to Friday
  • Paid up to £125 per day, term time only
  • Based in Newham, London - with excellent public transport links
