We are looking for an experienced candidate to carry out the following duties:
Lead on, develop and oversee priority 5 of the Councils SEND and AP Strategy - 'the delivery of a DSG management plan in the Local Authority to create a more financially sustainable system in Sutton. To work alongside a number of seconded staff (Senior EP, Primary and Secondary headteacher) and non-seconded staff (Head of SEND, ManaginDirector of Cognus) as well as other key stakeholder groups including the Local Council's SEND Forum, focussing on the delivery of three key areas across the Local Area as agreed by the local Education Leadership Group: Implementing a strong and standard Ordinarily Available Provision offer across mainstream schools Specialist Commissioning Specialist / Mainstream Funding Arrangements Ordinarily Available Provision Working with Seconded Headteachers, EP and Cognus education services as part of a transformation team to: Develop guidance and enhance practices that will meet SEND needs sooner thereby reducing the numbers of EHCNA in the Borough and developing commonly understood OAP in Early Years, mainstream primary, mainstream secondary and enhanced provision. This would include guidance and local agreement around TA deployment and implementation of evidence-base away from use of 1:1 support. Develop and embed guidance related to curriculum adaptations, adjustments and pathways for pupils with Autism - primary and secondary (linked to Infinity Support, Difference Matters, AET offer). Develop and embed guidance related to curriculum adaptations, adjustments and pathways for pupils with SEMH needs - primary and secondary. Create a standard primary and secondary 'IMT model’ building on good practice in existing schools that links to (Vulnerable Pupils Panel and multi agency SEND panel) linked to embedding of OAP. Development of local area school level data dashboard to share inclusion metrics transparently and to support challenging conversations about increasing inclusive practice. Development of an 'enhanced or alternative pathways’ in mainstream schools to include a functional life skills approach in mainstream schools which runs alongside the National Curriculum. Launch and implement transitional arrangements including: Early Years Support Plan which is supported by SENDIF/targeted funding and lasts until end of Reception. Year 6-7 Support Plan which is supported by targeted funding and lasts until end of Autumn term y8.
