The Student Success Tutor plays a pivotal role in supporting students throughout their academic journey, providing personalised guidance to help them achieve their goals and overcome challenges. Through one-to-one coaching, group support, and tailored development plans, you’ll work closely with students to foster engagement, enhance academic performance, and improve retention.

In this role, you’ll identify and support at-risk students through early intervention strategies, monitor progress using data insights, and collaborate with academic and support services to ensure a holistic, student-centred approach. You'll also contribute to the ongoing improvement of student success initiatives and play an active part in shaping a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalised academic coaching and support to students.
  • Develop and monitor individual success plans and SMART goals.
  • Identify and support at-risk students through early intervention.
  • Collaborate with academic departments and student support services.
  • Maintain accurate records and use data to inform strategy and practice.
  • Advocate for students and empower them to overcome academic and personal challenges.
  • Support wider student success initiatives, with occasional national travel required.

Essential Criteria:

  • PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experienced and qualified educator with a background in FE/ HE or Secondary Education
  • Knowledge of awarding body regulations
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and associated principles
