We are excited to announce an opportunity for a Student Support Advisor at a well-established college in Wandsworth, London. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about supporting students and contributing to their educational journey.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide advice on college welfare, including supporting students in applying for bursaries. Training on bursaries will be provided if necessary, but experience in offering information, advice, and guidance is preferred.
  • Contribute to the operation of the Advice Centre, working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Deliver activities or workshops directly to student groups as part of the enrichment program.
  • Monitor students' progress by maintaining detailed reports on advising sessions.
  • Promote the availability and accessibility of support services through presentations and online resources.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in supporting safeguarding, as the role involves being part of the college's safeguarding team and managing a cohort, including attending meetings to represent the college.
  • Experience working in Further Education or Secondary Education, ideally with students aged 16-18.
  • Proficient in using IT systems at an intermediate level, including databases, internal systems, and Outlook.
