Job Description:

We are urgently seeking an experienced Education Performance Analyst to join the Performance Team of a Local Government organisation. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing statutory data collections and returns within the Education sector. You will be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and clear reporting of essential data that informs key decision-making processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage statutory returns related to Education (such as the school census and school workforce data) using systems like COLLECT and other Local Government data management platforms.
  • Extract, analyse, and present education data from case management systems and central government databases.
  • Produce clear, accurate, and timely performance reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with all data-related regulations, including data protection and Freedom of Information laws.
  • Collaborate across departments to improve data quality, accessibility, and reporting systems.
  • Maintain and enhance shared data systems to support the efficient use of data within the department.

Essential Experience:

It is absolutely essential that the candidate possesses specific experience with Education data and statutory returns. This includes:

  • Schools Census
  • COLLECT System
  • School Workforce Data

Without experience in these areas, applications will not be considered. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of these systems and processes, having successfully managed statutory returns for education in a Local Government context.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrable experience in managing Education statutory returns and familiarity with systems such as COLLECT is crucial.
  • Strong expertise in Excel and PowerBI for data analysis, visualisation, and reporting.
  • Proven ability to extract and analyse large datasets from case management systems.
  • Experience working within Local Government or the public sector, specifically with Education data.
  • Strong understanding of data protection regulations (GDPR, FOI).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable reports.
