Era Care Limited are looking for anAssistant/Deputy Manager within a Childrens home working with vulnerable children and adolescents between 11 and 18 years old with Emotional and behaviour difficulties at our home in Harlow, Essex.

In short:

You will be the Assistant Manager who supports the Registered Manager within a small (three-bedded) Children's Home. The postholder will be responsible for helping the RM managing the Home, supporting staff, ensuring those are working within the homes policies and procedures, completing supervisions, ensuring care plans are reviewed and understood by staff and updated when required and to ensure young people are supported and prepared to move on to independent living.

To ensure that high levels of emotional and physical care, appropriate activities, comfortable
accommodation and the service of keyworkers are planned, provided and applied inaccordance with the homes Procedures and Procedures.

You will be supported in your role with regular supervisions and enrolled within the Companys extensive training

Centralised Personnel, Finance and Maintenance based at Head Office which allows the staff teams to focus their time on doing what they do best i.e. supporting, developing and advocating for the young people in their care.
Required

Knowledge of Residential Childcare with a minimum of a Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) and a Level 5 Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) or be prepared to complete the qualification - a contribution may be required dependant on funding.

At least one years' experience of residential childcare who present with emotional and challenging behaviours.

You must have knowledge and working understanding of Childrens Homes Regulations 2015, The Quality Standards and the Ofsted requirements.

Your hours would be 2 x shifts plus 8 office hours per week; shifts times are 10:00 until 23:00 sleep in the home back on duty at 08:00 and finish at 10:30. Shifts cover weekends, bank holidays, Christmas etc and shifts differ from rota to rota
