  • Energy Storage Product Planning
  • Lead the planning and strategic development of our energy storage product line.
  • Define product specifications, performance targets, and development timelines based on market trends and technological advancements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product management, and executive leadership, to align product development with company objectives
  • Technical Solution Design and Review
  • Oversee the design and review of technical solutions for energy storage products, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability standards
  • Provide technical leadership in system architecture, component selection, and integration strategies
  • Ensure that designs are optimised for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and scalability
  • Core Algorithm Review
  • Evaluate and approve core algorithms for Battery Management Systems and energy management
  • Work closely with software and hardware teams to implement algorithms that optimise battery performance, extend lifespan, and ensure safety
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in algorithms related to energy storage and integrate best practices into product development
  • Product Direction Advisory
  • Provide strategic recommendations on the direction and development of our energy storage products
  • Monitor industry developments, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to inform product strategy
  • Advise senior management on potential opportunities and challenges within the energy storage market

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
  • Extensive knowledge of energy storage media such as lead-acid batteries, lithium-ion batteries, sodium-ion batteries, and proven experience in battery product design and development
  • At least 5 years of independent R&D and solution design experience in Battery Management Systems, and deep understanding of BMS architecture, functionality and safety requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years leading a software development team focused on embedded systems for energy storage applications
  • Experience leading multiple projects related to energy storage system integration and management
  • Over 12 years of overall technical work and management experience in relevant fields
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor engineering teams, manage complex projects and drive innovation
  • Experience in team management for solar-storage system integration is a significant plus
  • Background in developing batteries for electric vehicles, commercial/industrial energy storage systems, or home energy storage systems is preferred
