- Lead and manage the electrical safety team to ensure effective planning and prioritisation of workloads.
- Monitor and manage service providers, contractors, consultants, and agencies to maintain high service delivery standards.
- Oversee borough-wide electrical projects, ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with safety regulations.
- Manage monthly performance reviews of contractors and consultants, ensuring best practices and continuous improvement.
- Contribute towards investment strategies aimed at enhancing the electrical installations and fire alarm systems within council properties.
- Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and reporting on projects with an annual budget of up to £30m.
- Ensure effective procurement, contracting, and compliance across various contract types.
- Liaise with residents, officers, councillors, and other stakeholders to maintain strong communication throughout project lifecycles.
- Represent the council at meetings, including tenant and leaseholder engagements.
- City & Guilds 2360 Parts 1 & 2, 2391 Inspection, Testing & Certification of Electrical Installations, and 2382 18th Edition BS7671.
- Strong knowledge of Housing Fire Safety regulations and testing/certification of Fire Alarm installations.
- Experience managing electrical contracts, monitoring contractor performance, and delivering large-scale projects.
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and fostering collaboration.
- Excellent strategic planning, communication, and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Proficiency in IT systems, including spreadsheets and performance monitoring tools.
- Ability to manage and deliver high-value projects within budget and timelines.
- Willingness to attend site visits and evening meetings as required.
