Electrical Engineer - Building Services Consultant
London, N3

  • Full time, permanent
  • £35,000 - £45,000 per annum depending on experience

The Role

Due to growth, we are seeking a proactive Electrical Engineer with over 3 years of experience in the building services industry. As part of our growing team, you'll design innovative electrical systems, conduct site surveys, and work closely with clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Electrical Design: Create detailed layouts for power distribution, lighting, and life safety systems for commercial and residential buildings
  • Site Surveys: Perform site assessments to gather technical data and generate reports with actionable recommendations
  • Client Liaison: Present technical designs to clients in clear, non-technical terms and collaborate with developers, architects, and contractors
  • Technical Drawings: Produce accurate schematic and layout drawings using AutoCAD, Bluebeam, or similar software
  • Project Management: Collaborate with project managers and engineers to deliver projects on time and within safety standards
  • Compliance: Ensure all designs adhere to UK regulations, CIBSE guidelines, and IET Wiring Regulations


The Ideal Candidate

We're looking for a motivated and detail-oriented engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You should have a strong technical background, the ability to manage multiple projects, and excellent communication skills.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in building services electrical design
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Trimble, Dialux, or Relux
  • In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations and standards
  • Industry certifications or membership with CIBSE or IET (or working towards them)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
