Electrical Engineer - Lightning Protection & Earthing Contractor

Our client, a leading independent contractor specialising in lightning protection, earthing services, surge protection maintenance, and specialist protection systems. With a mission to provide high-quality, reliable, and innovative solutions to safeguard people and infrastructure from electrical hazards.

They are now seeking an Electrical Engineer with a strong electrical bias and commercial electrical experience to help establish and grow their surge protection department. This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on professional to join our team and take a pivotal role in developing this aspect of our business.

  • £44,500 - £50,000 PA
  • Monday - Thursday 6:00am - 4:00pm, Friday 6:00am - 3:00pm
  • No weekend working
  • 22 days holiday

Electrical Engineer - Lightning Protection & Earthing Contractor

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys to assess surge protection requirements
  • Install, test, and maintain surge protection systems for commercial and industrial clients
  • Provide technical advice and solutions to meet customer needs
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate surge protection with lightning and earthing systems
  • Assist in the development of standard operating procedures and best practices for the department
  • Work closely with clients and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered to high standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including reports and risk assessments
  • Undertake occasional home-based tasks to support departmental planning and development

Requirements

  • Proven commercial electrical experience, including the installation of surge protection systems
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical systems, surge protection, and related safety standards
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Full UK driving license

Desirable

  • Awareness or experience in the lightning protection or earthing industry.
