Full job description

A great opportunity has come up with our well-establish client in the manufacturing industry within their facilities department. Reporting to the Facilities Manager you will be responsible for repairs and maintenance of the company's compound. You will collaborate with the broader facilities team to ensure seamless operations and drive continuous improvement in facility efficiency.

We are looking for someone to complete a range of facilities jobs to a high standard with excellent communication skills. Ideally the perfect candidate should have completed an apprenticeship.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Execute carpentry tasks such as framing, installing doors, windows, and cabinetry, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic standards are met.
  • Perform repairs on structures and fixtures, addressing issues promptly to maintain a safe and functional environment.
  • Coordinate and execute painting projects, including surface preparation, colour matching, and applying finishes to maintain a visually appealing and well-maintained facility.
  • Conduct plumbing installations and repairs, including fixtures, pipes, and drainage systems, to ensure proper functioning and compliance.
  • Identify and resolve electrical issues, promptly, conducting root cause and analyses and implementing corrective actions to minimise downtime.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks to keep the facility in optimal condition, including but not limited to patching walls, repairing flooring, and addressing general wear and tear.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities

Qualifications:

  • A minimum City & Guilds or BTEC national qualification or equivalent in a mechanical/electrical engineering discipline
  • Minimum 17th Edition wiring regulation certification required
  • A minimum of 4-years' time served apprenticeship is essential.
