Our clients are looking to add an experienced electrical shift engineer to their team in a commercial office space in Canary Wharf. They are looking for a technically strong engineer with strong experience within building services within a commerical building. This role will involved undergoing PPM and Reactive maintenance on Electrical and Mechanical equipment, liaise with subcontractors, respond to emergencies on site and ensure all statutory compliance is adhered to. This role follows a continental shift pattern, Day shift only. To be successful in this role, you will need to be fully qualified in Electrical Installations (City and Guilds / NVQ or equivalent + 17th Edition as a minimum), at least 3 years experience prior in a similar role and the ability to work well in a team and individually.Key Duties:

  • Identify and diagnose faults, conducting repairs, adjustments, and necessary maintenance tasks as needed.
  • Perform routine servicing, repairs, or adjustments on plant or machinery as per the planned maintenance schedule provided by Engineering Supervisors, Building Services Manager, and FM Help desk.
  • Adopt a flexible approach, utilising various skills or trades as required to ensure cost-effective task completion.
  • Execute additional skilled tasks for which proficiency has been demonstrated.
  • Monitor plant equipment, recording data accurately using provided documentation.
  • Strive for optimal plant and equipment efficiency by adhering to prescribed requirements and instructions.
  • Aid in maintaining cleanliness and organisation in work areas, removing waste and debris as necessary.
  • Document and complete daily time/task sheets following established procedures.
  • Fulfil other reasonable duties as directed by the Estate Services Manager or Engineering Supervisor.

Technical Requirements:

  • Full time apprenticeship in an electrical or Building Services HVAC discipline complete with City & Guilds 236 part 1 & 2 certification or NVQ Level 3. Mechanical apprenticeship would be acceptable with relevant electrical experience.
  • Previous experience working in a modern building services maintenance environment, and able to demonstrate basic understanding of HVAC and building services.
  • Electrical fault finding, working inside panels.
  • 17th or 18th Edition
  • City & Guilds Test & Inspection (2391, 2394 & 2395) (Desirable)
