We are seeking an Engineering Assistant to join a team within a Fortune 500 company that supports a variety of current and next-generation technology needs. The role is crucial for ensuring the successful maintenance of the site through both pre-planned and reactive maintenance tasks within a distribution warehouse environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Utilise the electronic maintenance scheduler to select, carry out, and sign off on pre-planned maintenance tasks.
  • Liaise with the customer’s operations team to ensure all building and maintenance schedules are met, either by the in-house engineering team or through organising subcontractors.
  • Conduct ad-hoc project work, including power, data, and plumbing tasks.
  • Oversee and assume responsibility for specialist contractors on site, ensuring they work safely and to a high standard.
  • Maintain the conveyor system, ranging from clearing jams to mechanical and electrical fault finding and repairs.
  • Perform regular PPM and shift cover for a mid-size conveyor system.
  • Conduct weekly testing of the site sprinkler system and maintain site-wide lighting.
  • Undertake general upkeep and repairs on site plumbing and basic level control and fault finding of the fire alarm system.
  • Manage bay doors, dock levellers, and general building maintenance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Electrical bias with experience in site and automation maintenance.
  • Computer literacy is essential.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to be on-call 1 week in 4, with paid overtime for any callouts.
  • Additional overtime opportunities may be available depending on site requirements.
