Our client is a leading provider of high-quality mechanical and electrical engineering services. They are looking to bring on an M&E Quantity Surveyor to join our team. In this role you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of our mechanical and electrical projects. You will work closely with project teams to ensure that all costs are controlled, payments are processed, and projects are delivered within budget.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare and submit accurate applications for payment within a timely manner
  • To monitor the project costs, ensuring that all expenditure is tracked and controlled against the agreed budget.
  • To manage variations, ensuring they are accurately recorded, valued, and agreed upon with clients and subcontractors.
  • To prepare and agree on sub-contractor accounts, ensuring that all payments are process in line with the contractual terms.
  • Issue notices in accordance with contract requirements, ensuring compliance with relevant conditions and legal obligations.
  • Prepare and negotiate final accounts, ensuring all parties agree to the final financial position of projects.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Proven experience in a similar role within the mechanical and electrical sector.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration, cost control, and commercial management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient in relevant software, including cost management and project management tools.
