Role: Maintenance Shift Engineer

Shifts: 4 On, 4 Off 12 Hour Shifts (4 Days On, 4 Off, 4 Nights On)

Salary: To £43,000 plus Benefits and Future Career Progression Opportunities

Location: London - Easily commutable from Clapham, Brixton, Wandsworth, Battersea, Lambeth, Camberwell, Streatham, Wimbledon, Morden and Thornton Heath.

Within this fast-paced production environment, the proactive maintenance and repairs provided by their Maintenance Engineering team is a crucial element of the factory’s success. Now seeking a motivated new team member, we are actively recruiting for an electrically biased Maintenance Shift Engineer who is seeking a permanent position with a successful company who are market leaders in their field.

Whether you are an electrically biased Maintenance Shift Engineer from a production / manufacturing environment or are keen to transition your electrical & mechanical skills into a 24/7 factory setting, we’re keen to hear from you!

The Maintenance Shift Engineer will report into the Team Lead and will focus on delivering work to a high standard across Planned Maintenance, breakdowns, projects, installing new equipment and completing building/infrastructure improvements.

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • An electrically biased Multi-Skilled Engineer.
  • Previous experience working within the maintenance function of a production or manufacturing environment is highly desirable, but those with electrical & mechanical skills from other backgrounds are also encouraged to apply!
  • You will need to have completed a recognised engineering apprenticeship or hold a related engineering qualification at NVQ/C&G Level 3 or above.
  • Useful experience / qualifications include the 18th Edition, Electrical Installation Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance and Fabrication, Electronics including fault finding to component level.
  • You will have good attention to detail and the ability to work safely.
  • You will need knowledge or experience of some of the following: 3 phase motors, belts, bearings, chains, hydraulics, pneumatics, steam systems or boilers, gears, pumps, sensors, inverters, relays, contactors, PLC’s etc.
  • Good fault-finding skills.
  • Hold a friendly demeanour and proactive approach to work, including the ability to work well as part of the Maintenance team.
