This consultancy is a highly respected, award-winning engineering consultancy with a reputation for excellence in building services design. They are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join their London office. This role is an exciting opportunity to become part of one of the most technical teams in the industry, working on some of the most complex and high-profile projects in the built environment.
Role & Responsibilities:
The Senior Electrical Design Engineer will play a crucial role in leading the electrical design process, ensuring high-quality engineering solutions that meet client and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include:
* Leading the electrical design for a variety of complex projects from concept to completion.
* Developing innovative and sustainable engineering solutions to meet client specifications.
* Conducting detailed electrical calculations, designs, and specifications.
* Coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, including mechanical and sustainability engineers, to ensure seamless project delivery.
* Managing client relationships, providing technical guidance, and presenting design proposals.
* Mentoring and supporting junior engineers to develop their technical skills.
* Ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
* Conducting site visits and surveys to assess project requirements and ensure installation quality.
Skills & Experience Required:
* A degree in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related field.
* Chartered or working towards Chartered Engineer status (CIBSE, IET, or equivalent).
* Extensive experience in electrical design within the built environment.
* Strong knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards, including BS7671 and CIBSE guidelines.
* Proficiency in design software such as Dialux, Amtech, and Revit (desirable).
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and manage client expectations.
