Senior Electrical Engineer - Data Centers - To 70K + two days work from home.

Working for a consultancy that specialises in data centres means that you'll work on engineering led, and not architecturally led, projects. You'll enjoy working on interesting, complex and resilient buildings and have a lot more ownership and impact on these projects.

You'll use your knowledge of electrical building services design to your full potential; as you produce designs, schematics, equipment schedules and specifications. You'll enjoy variety as you'll work on a blend of data centre projects such as upgrades or expansion projects and also hyperscale, data centre campus projects.

Key duties

  • Lead concept and detailed design stages on data centre projects.
  • Produce detail design documentation (technical reports and drawings)
  • Produce technical drawings, distribution board schedules, specifications and specialist documentation.
  • Carry out short circuit and protection studies
  • Carry out single point of failure tests
  • Produce arc-flash calculations and reports
  • Respond to technical queries and RFI's
  • Verify subcontractors design, ensure compliance with the client's specifications.
  • Attend client's coordination and progress meetings.
  • Address clients' comments on the final design, prior to handover.
  • Attend relevant industry events such as DCD.

Requirements

  • Good all-round knowledge of building services; gained from seeing different projects from concept to construction.
  • Digitally savvy with a range of tools such Revit, Amtech, Bluebeam or ElectricalOM.
  • Able to work in the UK, without any restrictions.
  • Good appreciation of reliance and redundancy, with respect to data centre design.
