Senior Mechanical Engineer West London Data Centre
We are currently partnering with a bespoke Fire, Security and IT Solutions design, installation and support provider operation on Major Construction and Mission Critical projects across Europe. Due to continued success, they are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join them on a Data Centre Project in West London.
Responsibilities
Design and Oversight of HVAC Systems: The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the installation of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) systems to ensure optimal environmental conditions for the data center. This includes managing airflow, temperature, humidity, and ensuring energy-efficient solutions are in place to meet the high cooling demands of server equipment.
Managing Mechanical Systems Integration: The Senior Mechanical Engineer ensures the seamless integration of all mechanical systems in the data center, including cooling, fire suppression, and plumbing systems. This involves close collaboration with other engineering teams to align the mechanical systems with the electrical, structural, and architectural designs of the facility.
Ensuring Compliance with Codes and Standards: They ensure all mechanical systems comply with local, national, and international codes and standards (such as ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.). This includes ensuring proper documentation, inspections, and certification processes are followed for mechanical systems.
Oversight of Equipment Selection and Procurement: The Senior Mechanical Engineer leads the selection and procurement of mechanical equipment such as chillers, air handling units, pumps, and fans. They ensure that the equipment meets performance specifications, energy efficiency requirements, and project budget constraints.
Project Management and Coordination: The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for coordinating mechanical system installation, including managing timelines, budgets, and resources. They work closely with contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that mechanical works are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Requirements
Must have at relevant mechanical degree or equivalent trades background
Must have 5+ years experience in a similar role
