A leading Facilities Management provider is seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Technician with a strong background in both industrial and commercial maintenance, specifically working on large conveyor belt systems. This role is based at a prestigious static commercial site in London, offering long-term stability, excellent benefits, and a professional working environment.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on large conveyor belt systems, mechanical plant, and associated equipment.
  • Diagnose faults, perform repairs, and conduct system adjustments to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Undertake mechanical maintenance tasks across various systems, including motors, gearboxes, belts, bearings, rollers, and pulleys.
  • Monitor the operation of conveyor systems, ensuring safety compliance and efficiency.
  • Complete minor mechanical installation works, modifications, and equipment upgrades as required.
  • Liaise closely with client representatives and site management to ensure clear communication and high-quality service delivery.
  • Record maintenance activities, inspections, and compliance paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Adhere strictly to health & safety regulations, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company and site policies.
  • Support the wider engineering and FM team with other mechanical systems, including HVAC, pumps, and general plant maintenance.


Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance role, with strong exposure to industrial conveyor systems and commercial mechanical systems.
  • Solid knowledge of maintaining, repairing, and fault-finding on conveyor belts, motors, and related mechanical components.
  • Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (e.g., City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of health & safety practices and compliance.
  • Ability to work independently on a static site, with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills and a professional, client-facing manner.
  • Experience within Facilities Management or large-scale commercial environments is desirable.
