ROLE - BID Manager
LOCATION - LONDON

A UK-leading building services company specializing in mechanical and electrical solutions across commercial, industrial, and residential sectors. With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable solutions, we are looking for a BID Manager to lead our tendering and business development efforts.

Role Overview:

As a BID Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process, ensuring high-quality, competitive, and compliant submissions that align with our business growth objectives. You will work closely with the pre-construction, estimating, and business development teams to secure new contracts and expand our client base.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the full bid lifecycle, from initial opportunity identification to final submission.
  • Develop compelling and commercially competitive proposals for mechanical and electrical building services projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including design, estimating, and commercial, to ensure accurate and strategic bid responses.
  • Lead bid strategy meetings, ensuring alignment with company goals and client requirements.
  • Research and analyse market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to strengthen bid proposals.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client expectations.
  • Oversee the creation of bid documentation, including technical and commercial proposals, presentations, and case studies.
  • Manage deadlines and ensure timely, high-quality submissions.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with key clients, consultants, and stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
Key Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a BID Manager role within the building services, M&E, or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services, including design, installation, and project delivery.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to create compelling bid responses.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to develop competitive pricing strategies.
  • Experience managing multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in bid software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Desirable:
  • Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements in building services.
  • Experience working with public sector and private sector clients.
  • APMP or equivalent bid management certification.
