With a strong reputation for delivering high-quality, innovative, and sustainable solutions, we are looking for a BID Manager to lead our tendering and business development efforts.
Role Overview:
As a BID Manager, you will be responsible for managing the end-to-end bid process, ensuring high-quality, competitive, and compliant submissions that align with our business growth objectives. You will work closely with the pre-construction, estimating, and business development teams to secure new contracts and expand our client base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full bid lifecycle, from initial opportunity identification to final submission.
- Develop compelling and commercially competitive proposals for mechanical and electrical building services projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including design, estimating, and commercial, to ensure accurate and strategic bid responses.
- Lead bid strategy meetings, ensuring alignment with company goals and client requirements.
- Research and analyse market trends, competitor activity, and client needs to strengthen bid proposals.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and client expectations.
- Oversee the creation of bid documentation, including technical and commercial proposals, presentations, and case studies.
- Manage deadlines and ensure timely, high-quality submissions.
- Maintain and develop relationships with key clients, consultants, and stakeholders to enhance business opportunities.
- Proven experience in a BID Manager role within the building services, M&E, or construction industry.
- Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical building services, including design, installation, and project delivery.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, with the ability to create compelling bid responses.
- Strong commercial awareness and ability to develop competitive pricing strategies.
- Experience managing multiple bids simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in bid software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements in building services.
- Experience working with public sector and private sector clients.
- APMP or equivalent bid management certification.
