- Assist the OMM in maintaining the electrical components of the tunnel
- Inspect, maintain, and repair all electrical systems
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical assets
- Assist the OMM and Maintenance Lead in maintaining the electrical components of the tunnel and approach roads (Project Facilities) to budget and contractual compliance.
- Inspect, maintain, and repair all electrical systems, components, and equipment within the tunnel infrastructure, including the main power supply, Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), distribution boards, etc.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues or malfunctions and implement appropriate solutions to restore normal functionality.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electrical assets to ensure reliable operation.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing of the tunnel's electrical equipment, power supply, and UPS.
- Interpret drawings, electrical schematics, specifications, and technical manuals to guide maintenance and repair activities.
- Monitor and record electrical system performance data to identify trends and proactively address potential problems.
- Liaise with the Health and Safety Advisor to develop safe systems of work and oversee the safe deployment of sub-contractors, ensuring the safety of operatives and network customers is a primary consideration at all times.
- Manage the Health and Safety aspects of all electrical items related to schemes, maintenance, and fault-finding triage.
- Support with the cost-efficient use of plant, materials, and labour.
- Undertake internal audit checks and health and safety inspections in accordance with performance requirements.
- Develop relationships and integration of supply chain partners and key sub-contractors.
- Actively promote Health and Safety in the workplace, setting a good example to other employees and ensuring awareness of and compliance with the general Health and Safety.
- Ability to work shifts or nights as required.
- Prepared to form part of the “on-call” roster.
- Perform other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required.
- City & Guilds Combined level 2 & 3 Electrical Course (or equivalent)
- Domestic Electrical Part P Course (or equivalent)
- Authorised Person Electrical Low Voltage (APLV)
- Authorised Person High Voltage (APHV1) desirable.
- IEE Regulation to the latest Edition. (18th)
- PAT
- Design and Verification of Electrical Installations
- CSCS/ECS Registration.
- Relevant experience of working within a commercial/industrial Electrical environment.
- Experience of working within the highways industry including knowledge of network operations and scheme delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer literate and adept with Microsoft programmes and other applications
- Highly developed interpersonal skills
