You will be working alongside an experienced Electrical Lecturer.

The Electrical Technician will

  • Support students in practicalactivities in the workshop whilst maintaining health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare tools, materials, and equipment for practical classes, assessments, and exams, and clear away after use.
  • Prepare timber and sheet materials using specialist machines for practical sessions in line with awarding body guidelines. Source and prepare tools and materials for students with learning difficulties and special needs.
  • Set up and demonstrate equipment safely, offering clear explanations and advice.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues.
  • Ensure safety and compliance with electrical codes.
  • Keep records of maintenance and repairs.
  • Handle emergency electrical issues as needed.
  • Qualifications/Experience

- Level 2-3 qualification in Electrical Installations.

- Experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an institutional setting.

- Knowledge of electrical systems, safety standards, and troubleshooting.

- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations preferred.
