We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Social Housing Electrician to work for a large social housing contractor. As a Social Housing Electrician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and functionality of electrical systems in social housing properties. You will work closely with our maintenance team to provide efficient and effective electrical services to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work individually or as part of a team undertaking high quality electrical repairs, testing, installation, and condition reporting works.
- Comply with the current edition of BS7671 electrical legislation and company standards of work performance, ensuring compliance within electrical policies and procedures.
- Comply with company health and safety policies and procedures, including a continual programme of risk assessment in relation to the role.
- Attend and complete training as required to comply with changes to the electrical industry standards and to continue personal development.
- Comply with update communications such as team briefs, toolbox talks, technical bulletins and attend meetings on a monthly basis or as and when required.
- Utilise electronic and paper-based systems to accurately document electrical work including the use of labour and materials against each job.
- Demonstrate a positive, respectful, and inclusive attitude at all times, including to our clients, customers, colleagues, and members of our supply chain.
- Maintain van stocks and provide information enabling the improvements of first-time fixes for the area you work within.
- Support and mentor apprentices as and when required.
- Be flexible and willing to work overtime to cover workloads during busy periods.
- Cover out of hours on a rota basis.
- Perform additional duties, appropriate to the post as and when required.
- Carry out repairs to a variety of building services and demonstrate competence to basic multi-skills outside the core trade to include minor plumbing works, building work,possible grounds works and drainage related tasks.
- Play a key role in planning and completing a range of works associated Maintenanceand planned preventive maintenance.
Qualifications
Essential (Minimum Requirements):
Any of:
- Level 3 NVQ in Electrotechnical Services (Electrical Installation - Buildings & Structures)
- Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Installing Electrotechnical systems and equipment (buildings, structures and the environment)
- City & Guilds 2360 Electrical Installation Theory and Practice Part 2
- Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology
And
- Electrical Installations BS7671 (18th Edition) if not delivered as part of one of the above courses
- ECS Card - Gold (this can be obtained during probation)
- Level 3 Certificate in the Certification of Electrical Installations (inspection, testing and certification of electrical installations) or
- Both the City & Guilds 2394 Level 3 Award in the Initial Verification & Certification of Electrical Installations and the City & Guilds 2395 Level 3 Award in the Periodic, Inspection, Testing and Certification of Electrical Installations.
