We are looking to recruit on behalf of our client, an experienced Commercial Electrician to join their exisiting team on an ongoing basis.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out electrical installations, maintenance, testing, and repairs on council-owned commercial properties in South East London. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering quality work in line with health and safety regulations.

Candidates must hold a current DBS certificate.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Electrical Installations & Upgrades:

Installation and upgrading of electrical systems, including lighting, power circuits, and control systems, in commercial properties.

Working on lateral and communal electrical upgrades.

2. Maintenance & Repairs:

Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems.

Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards.



3. Testing & Certification:

Conduct Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs).

Test and certify new installations and modifications.



4. Health & Safety Compliance:

Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and company policies.

Ensure risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) are followed.



5. Client Communication:

Liaise with council representatives and site managers to coordinate work schedules and ensure minimal disruption.

Provide clear documentation and reporting of completed work.



6. Emergency Call-Outs:

Respond to urgent electrical issues as part of an on-call rota

Qualifications & Experience:

Essential:

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.

City & Guilds 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.

City & Guilds 2391 or 2394/2395 Inspection & Testing qualification.

Proven experience working in commercial properties, preferably council-owned buildings.

Strong understanding of electrical systems, fault diagnosis, and repair.

Valid UK driving licence.


Desirable:

Experience working on fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, and BMS systems.

Knowledge of working in compliance with council and local authority standards.

IPAF or PASMA certification.

ECS Gold Card.
