Electrician (Electrical Maintenance Engineer)
Location: Various Locations within Transport for London (TFL) network
Contract Length: 1 week
Role Overview:
Transport for London is seeking a highly skilled Electrician to support their electrical maintenance team across multiple locations within the TFL network.
Key Responsibilities:

Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM):
- Conduct scheduled maintenance inspections and tasks on electrical systems, including lighting, power supplies, and control systems.
- Ensure that all electrical installations, equipment, and systems are kept in safe working condition and comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.

Reactive Maintenance:
- Respond promptly to reactive electrical faults and breakdowns, ensuring quick and effective resolutions to minimize disruption.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues across the transport network.
- Perform emergency repairs and fault-finding on a variety of electrical systems and equipment.

Testing and Inspection:
- Carry out electrical testing (including periodic inspections and certifications) on installations and systems as required.
- Maintain accurate records of testing, inspections, and maintenance activities.

Health & Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations and practices in the execution of maintenance work.
- Ensure all works are compliant with the IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition) and the Electricity at Work Regulations.

Documentation and Reporting:
- Ensure all maintenance and repair activities are fully documented.
- Prepare reports on electrical systems' status and outline any further work needed to ensure compliance or enhance safety.

Collaborative Teamwork:
- Work as part of a skilled team of engineers and electricians to ensure high-quality service delivery across the TFL network.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- 2391/2392 Electrical Qualification required for the role.
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance, specifically in reactive and preventative maintenance tasks.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring, and controls.
- Experience working within a transport, public infrastructure, or similar environment is preferred but not essential.
- Knowledge of relevant electrical safety standards and regulations.
