Our client who specialises in providing sustainable and energy-efficient solutions for both residential and commercial clients, is looking for a Lead Solar PV Installer to join their team. In this role, you will guide and work directly with your team to install a variety of solar PV panels, ensuring each installation is carried out to the highest standards, safely, and in compliance with company protocols. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the installation process, mentoring your team, and ensuring excellent customer service throughout.   • Plan PV system configurations based on customer requirements and site conditions
  • Measure, cut, and assemble support structures for solar PV panels
  • Install solar modules, panels & support structures in line with building codes & standards
  • Mentor and train trainee installers
  • Connect PV panels to the electrical system (if electrically trained)
  • Install PV systems and equipment with minimal supervision
  • Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and on time
  • Deliver excellent customer service, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Follow standard procedures to keep projects on schedule and provide guidance to labourers
  • Activate and test PV systems
  • Perform regular maintenance on PV systems
  • Represent the company professionally, wearing the correct uniform and PPE at all times

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven experience of managing teams
  • Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme (preferred but not required)
  • 18th Edition certification (required if connecting panels to the electrical system)
  • ECS Card holder
  • PV system installation training
  • NICEIC Accredited (required)
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Clean driver’s license (required)

As most PV installation is done outdoors, you will be working on rooftops, flat and pitched surfaces, and in attics or crawl spaces to connect panels to the electric grid (if electrically trained)
