Reporting to the Energy Manager, the Energy Systems Engineer role continuously improves the energy performance of Imperial’s estate, reducing operating cost through reduced expenditure on utilities. The post holder will achieve this through application of sound engineering skills and principles to existing and new infrastructure, analysis and interpretation of data, database and information management, implementation of strategies and opportunities to affect energy, cost and carbon reduction.

This role involves a wide range of responsibilities focused on energy management and sustainability which includes identifying energy reduction opportunities, applying for funding, and managing projects. It covers maintaining databases, ensuring compliance with ISO50001, and communicating with stakeholders. You will also be supporting energy data preparation and providing expert advice. The post has a strong focus on project delivery and collaboration with team members and wider departments.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record in delivering energy management initiatives across a comparable diverse and complex estate. You will possess strong communication skills with the ability to succeed in highly collaborative and collegiate environments that rely on extensive stakeholder engagement. In addition to developed knowledge and understanding of building services design, the successful candidate will also possess demonstrable expertise of large complex databases and how to interpret and translate into understandable information for reports and presentations.
