We are seeking a skilled Technician to join a UK Radar & Naval Solutions team. This role involves manufacturing high-complexity electromechanical products that are essential to a marine radar navigation product range. The ideal candidate will have experience in electromechanical assembly, rework, and testing, particularly in maritime applications.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assemble, test, and rework electromechanical equipment to a high standard of quality.
- Follow detailed procedures, drawings, documents, change notes, schematics, and both oral and written instructions.
- Perform precise operations such as soldering, wiring, crimping, and the application of adhesives, using a variety of tools and equipment.
- Assemble wire harnesses, cable assemblies, and connectors in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards.
- Inspect own work and the work of others, proactively troubleshoot and solve problems.
- Participate in the creation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and raise defect reports.
- Utilize the company business data management system for viewing, printing, and data entry.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area, adhering to 5S standards and all health, safety, compliance, and quality requirements.
- Support the operations team with any additional tasks as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- At least 2 years’ experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Analytical approach to problem-solving with strong numeracy and literacy skills.
- Proven proactive ability, with strong team skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in PC use, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in a cellular manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Knowledge of radar systems is beneficial.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, and handle manual lifting regularly throughout the day.
