Hardware Technician

In a world where artificial intelligence opens up new horizons, our faith in its potential unveils a new outlook where, together, humans and machines build a new future filled with knowledge, inspiration, and incredible discoveries.

The development of a functional humanoid robot underpins an era of abundance and well-being where poverty will disappear, and people will be able to choose what they want to do.

We can imagine millions of bipedal robots doing more work than all human labour does today freeing people from the servitude of some repetitive and boring tasks that nobody likes to perform.

We believe that we have enough abundance to take care of everyone who is displaced. Eventually, providing a universal basic income will lead to the true evolution of our civilization.

Labor shortages loom, as the demands on our built environment rise. With the world's workforce increasingly moving away from undesirable tasks, the manufacturing, construction, and logistics industries critical to our daily lives are left exposed.

By deploying our general-purpose humanoid robots in environments deemed hazardous or monotonous, we envision a future where human well-being is safeguarded while closing the gaps in critical global labour needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Prototype Assembly: Assemble and test prototype humanoid robots according to engineering specifications and assembly instructions, utilizing hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment.
  • Component Inspection and Testing: Inspect and test individual components and subsystems for functionality, fit, and quality, and troubleshoot issues as they arise during assembly and testing processes.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document assembly processes, test results, and any issues encountered during prototype assembly and testing, and report findings to engineering and design teams for further analysis and resolution.
  • Prototype Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance tasks on prototype robots, including cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting mechanical components, and troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, or software issues as needed.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures in the workshop environment, including proper handling of tools and equipment, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and compliance with safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Material Handling and Inventory Management: Manage inventory of prototype components and materials, including receiving, storing, and organizing parts and supplies, and assist in sourcing and procurement activities as needed.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to provide feedback on prototype performance and suggest design improvements, and communicate effectively to ensure smooth workflow and coordination on the shop floor.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement in prototype assembly and testing procedures, and propose and implement solutions to streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and enhance overall productivity.

Requirements:

  • Mechanical Assembly: Proficiency in mechanical assembly techniques and procedures, with experience in assembling complex mechanical systems and components accurately and efficiently.
  • Electrical and Electronic Skills: Basic understanding of electrical and electronic components and circuits, with the ability to perform basic electrical wiring, soldering, and troubleshooting tasks as needed for prototype assembly and testing.
  • Precision Measurement: Familiarity with precision measuring tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges, and ability to accurately measure and verify dimensions and tolerances of prototype components.
  • Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to identify and diagnose mechanical, electrical, or software issues encountered during prototype assembly and testing, and propose effective solutions for resolution.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Attention to detail and ability to accurately document assembly processes, test results, and any issues encountered during prototype assembly and testing, and communicate findings effectively to engineering teams.
  • Safety Awareness: Knowledge of workshop safety protocols and procedures, with a commitment to adhering to safety guidelines and ensuring a safe working environment for oneself and others on the shop floor.
  • Teamwork and Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, and communicate effectively to achieve common goals and objectives.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and requirements in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and willingness to learn new skills and technologies as needed to support prototype assembly and testing activities.

Reasons why you should apply:

  • High competitive salary.
  • 28 calendar days of vacation per year.
  • Flexible working hours.
  • Opportunity to work on the latest technologies in AI/ML, Robotics and others.
  • Startup model, offering a dynamic and innovative work environment.
