Insignis Talent are currently working with a global pioneer in the design, development and manufacturing of undersea communication cable systems and we are actively seeking a hands-on Lead Electronics Engineer to join their team in Greenwich, London.

With the team growing in size and a number of projects forecasted, this position will play a pivotal role in growing the capability of the company. You will be influential in aspects of company procedures and processes, whilst mentoring and coaching the talent within the business. This will enhance your project management skills and allow you to engage with a number of stakeholders, adding real purpose and value.

In this role, you will be responsible for the Development, qualification, and documentation of hardware for the product that provides the current to power the undersea communication cable systems. These products are low-volume with high reliability. To be successful in this role, you must have:

  1. Experience in the applications of FPGAs or CPLD, using VHDL/Verilog (Intel/Altera development tools would be a distinct advantage)
  2. Experience leading an electronic design team (minimum of 2)
  3. Use of PCB CAD tools (ideally Zuken or Altium, but not essential)
  4. Strong experience in Software Methodology and Source Code Management/Control
  5. The ability to be onsite a minimum of 3-days per week onsite
  6. A Degree in electrical/electronic engineering, or proven experience in this field
