Venn Group are working with a local authority in London to recruit 2x Cyber Security Analysts on an interim contract basis.

Practical experience of working with Microsoft technologies such as Azure Security Centre, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Sentinel is essential for these roles.

The Cyber Security Analysts will implement a comprehensive cyber security strategy that leverages the Microsoft toolset to enhance the council’s digital security posture.

The Cyber Security Analysts will work to ensure that all products and services are secure, accessible, and compliant with industry standards and regulations.

Start date will be at the beginning of January 2025.

Key responsibilities of the interimCyber Security Analyst:

  • Implement the cyber security strategy integrating Microsoft security tools and services
  • Configuration of security toolsets on end points, servers and network devices
  • Implement and manage security controls and processes using Microsoft technologies such as Azure Security Centre, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Sentinel
  • Provide advice on cyber security matters to stakeholders within IT and the rest of the organisation, ensuring the value of security is understood and integrated into all business processes
  • Understand and manage third party risks, working with the wider organisation to promote a security first approach to supplier onboarding
  • Create and promote a cyber security culture within the organisation, encouraging continuous improvement and innovation
  • Influence suppliers and partners to adopt secure practices and technologies
  • Develop standards and patterns for secure service delivery, making informed technology choices and trade-offs
  • Support product teams in making security decisions within their services, leveraging Microsoft security tools

Desired experience and skills of the interimCyber Security Analyst:

  • Proficiency in handling current and emerging threats and countermeasures
  • Knowledge of Microsoft security tools and services, including Azure Security Center, Microsoft Defender, and Microsoft Sentinel
  • Management of vulnerabilities using standard tools and coordinating improvements using ITIL processes
  • Understanding of standards and regulations: ISO/IEC 27001, GDPR, Cyber Essentials
  • Knowledge of modern technology security practices around services, infrastructure, hosting, and platforms
