Senior Security Engineer

Salary - £130-150k + Strong Bonuses (c£300k total comp)

Location - London (in office minimum 4 days per week)

I'm currently working with an elite Algo-Trading firm who are looking for an experienced Security Engineer to help build out and fine-tune their internal Cyber Defence capability, ensuring they are protected from both internal and external threat actors.

Experience working within a financial markets (trading, hedge fund, asset manager, etc) or similar organization where the majority of the software infrastructure is on-prem will be essential. They are looking for someone who can understand how vendor tooling works and then customize/build a tailored version to their specific environment. A software engineering background or at least a very strong proficiency in coding will therefore be crucial.

This is honestly an incredible opportunity to work alongside an incredibly talented team of engineers, building a truly state of the art security infrastructure capability, within a genuinely elite Algo-Trading firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build out and fine-tune internal security infrastructure to protect against both internal and external cyber threat actors.
  • Building, developing and deploying large scale security solutions.
  • Working with wider engineering and technology teams to ensure security is incorporated at all stages of development and throughout the SDLC.
  • Willingness to engage in and lead on a wide range of both technical and compliance related security tasks.

Key Requirements

  • 4+ years' experience working in an advanced Security Engineering capacity; developing and deploying large scale security solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of both Linux and Unix operating systems.
  • Strong programming AND scripting skills (this will be tested).
  • Understanding of authentication systems and cryptographic systems.
  • Ability to collaborate with wider technology and engineering teams to champion security as an enabler.
