Our prestigious Global Investment Bank client has a fantastic 6-month contract opportunity for a highly motivated Security Engineer with a keen eye for detail to join its Network & Security team.Requirements
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 5 years in network security within a financial environment.
  • Product Knowledge: Excellent knowledge of Fortinet products, Cisco ISE, and NAC.
  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of network infrastructure and routing protocols. Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure hardware.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple work streams and work under pressure.
  • Certifications: Network experience equivalent to CCNE level, Fortinet FCP preferred.
  • Desirable: Exposure to low latency technology, experience with third-party vendors and network circuits, Linux experience, Python.
Key Responsibilities
  • Firewall Management: Continue to review, tighten, and standardize firewall policies and objects. Monitor performance and reorder policies to ensure optimal performance.
  • Vulnerability Management: Regularly meet with ISS to review vulnerabilities and produce action plans.
  • Change Management: Plan and raise changes within acceptable maintenance windows, present changes at CAB, and oversee or execute change implementation.
  • Documentation: Create detailed documentation for offshore teams for reference and support.
  • Hardware and Firmware Management: Ensure network security devices are up to standard.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Improve monitoring, alerting, and logging systems and provide performance statistics and reports.
  • Incident Management: Participate in incident resolution and collaborate with various teams to adopt and promote best practices and comply with policies and procedures
Management and Reporting

The Security Engineer will report directly to the Head of Networks UK and will work alongside a small team of experienced engineers on project activities while also overseeing the RUN support teams.

Special Role Requirements
  • Based in Central London with a normal shift pattern from Monday to Friday.
  • On-call duties on a weekly rota basis and international travel may be required.
  • Fluent in English; French would be a significant advantage.
