Employee Relations Specialist (ER Support)

This for our client who are a leading domestic insurance company. This will be on a short term contract, Inside IR35 and based working out of London, once a week onsite, turning to two days in the new year.

Reports to: Head of Employee RelationsAbout the Role:We are seeking an Employee Relations (ER) Specialist to provide support to our Employee Relations team. This position will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with employment law and will act as a senior escalation point for complex ER cases. While the primary focus will be on the Change Partner role, this position will support business-as-usual (BAU) activities, allowing senior team members to focus on organizational change. Key Responsibilities:* Provide expert advice and guidance on complex ER issues, including grievances, disciplinary actions, absence management, and performance cases. * Assist in managing settlement agreements and ensuring compliance with employment law and internal HR policies. * Serve as an escalation point for the ER team, providing counsel on difficult cases and supporting decision-making. * Support the validation of consultation proposals from an employment law perspective, ensuring the business complies with legal requirements. * Work closely with the HR and Change teams to ensure alignment of ER activities with broader business objectives. * Provide support on various BAU ER matters, allowing senior ER team members to focus on change initiatives. Qualifications and Experience:* Strong experience in Employee Relations, with a deep understanding of employment law and its practical application in a corporate environment. * Demonstrated ability to manage complex ER cases, including grievance and disciplinary issues. * Experience handling settlement agreements and other legal aspects of HR management. * Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels. * Experience within the financial or insurance sector (preferred but not essential). Preferred Attributes:* Ability to work independently and provide expert-level support on ER matters. * High attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and support a fast-paced HR team during times of change.
