Employee Relations Specialist

Contract Type: Temporary opportunity

Join our client's dynamic People Team as an Employee Relations Specialist and play a pivotal role in shaping workplace culture within the public sector. As the Employee Relations Specialist, you will be the trusted advisor for all aspects of HR case work, including disciplinary actions, grievances, absence management, and restructures. Your expertise will empower managers and staff to effectively navigate challenges while ensuring compliance with employment laws.

You will work closely with managers and stakeholders, developing strong working relationships and providing them with advice, coaching and training regarding best practice on all aspects of HR case work, with an outcome of aiming to reach successful resolution whilst effectively managing risks.

You will be instrumental in reviewing and updating HR policies and procedures ensuring they align with best practice and provide support with change initiatives including restructures and TUPE. This is an exciting opportunity where you will play a crucial role in shaping the employee experience and driving positive change throughout the organisation.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience working in HR with a strong emphasis on Employee Relations.
  • Previous experience of managing high level complex casework from start to finish and ideally have worked in a multi-site and unionised environment.
  • Experience of effectively influencing, challenging and negotiating within your business area on a range of people/HR related matters.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with people at all levels in the organisation, to understand business needs and consider and be aware of wider organisational and external impact
  • Ability to respond to feedback, modifying or making recommendations for change to the HR service, policies, procedures and guidance as required.
  • CIPD qualified or equivalent.
