JOB DESCRIPTION:

Are you keen to contribute towards the sustainable production of healthy, delicious dairy products?

Working closely with our Environment Manager, you will be responsible for administration of the dairy sector’s Climate Change Agreement scheme; keep dairy processors informed of upcoming changes to environmental legislation, specifically those related to energy efficiency; lobby government on the sector’s behalf; and provide advice and support around the reduction of scope 1 and 2 emissions.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess, and be able to demonstrate, excellent communication skills in English
  • Be confident engaging with people at all levels
  • Be adept at analysing energy consumption patterns and performing energy/carbon savings calculations
  • Have background knowledge of the UK food industry and/or environmental legislation
  • Be educated to degree level in a relevant subject area, such as environmental energy or policy.
  • In addition, an understanding of Climate Change Agreements (CCAs) and the UK’s Emissions Trading Scheme (UK-ETS) would be beneficial.

You must be able to demonstrate the following:

  • The ability to work collaboratively
  • Data analysis
  • Be able to handle technical complexity and communicate this at the right level and in the right manner for different audiences
  • Organisation and time management
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Speak publicly when required
  • The ability to help build consensus.

Salary will be competitive and will fit within a range based on experience.
