Global Head of Project Development - Solar and Wind

My client is a German renewable energy developer/O&M Specialist with an international presence and over 2000 employees globally. My client focuses on renewable energies including solar, wind and geothermal energy. They currently have a 10GW pipeline globally and are looking for a Head of Project Development to help them grow further.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development of all current projects, including strategic decision-making, preparation of risk committees and permitting for the forecasted portfolio
  • Supervise all of the wind and solar project developers in the process of prospecting, business development, and acquisition of new projects
  • Responsible for providing advice and guidance on future countries from a legal/finance and risk perspective – helping to set up those country offices
  • Identification and implementation of strategic measures
  • Regular reporting to internal stakeholders
  • Core country focus – Germany, France, Italy, UK
  • Future growth focus – Poland, Ireland, Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden
  • Location: Ideally the candidate will be based in Essen, Germany/London, England. However, there is flexibility to consider candidates in other locations if they can travel to the office bi-weekly/monthly.
