Project Support Engineer | Hybrid | Up to £65,000 With Excellent Benefits

The Opportunity

Due to an expanding order book, a global Rail leader of turnkey solutions, rail transportation and technology within the Rolling Stock sector, has an essential requirement for a Project Support Engineer to join the business in a permanent capacity. 

You will scrutinise and solve engineering challenges, created through new build assembly and live, in service maintenance, liaising with both Rolling Stock Design and Service Engineers, ensuring maintenance and assembly considerations are considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the 'Design for Maintenance' Process.
  • Scrutinise each phase of design to ensure maintenance implication have been considered.
  • Review the SRD documents, ensuring all relevant information is included in requirements asked of suppliers.
  • Review the CDRL documentation for each system, ensuring all relevant information is included in contractual requirements of suppliers.
  • Attend all conceptional design reviews, to fully understand the design philosophy and maintenance implication have been considered and implemented.
  • Attend both the provisional and detail design reviews to ensure all DfM requirements have been considered and implemented to a satisfied.

The Candidate:

  • Relevant degree – Engineering
  • Rolling Stock Experience from a technical engineering perspective.
  • Safety critical / complex engineering experience / rail specific experience
  • Dealt with real time engineering problems on vehicles.

Location
London or Newton Aycliffe (minimum of 1 day a week, with hybrid working from home).
