Shawthorpe are excited to be working alongside one of our very prestigious clients, to fulfil the role of an External Accounts Manager. This is a fully remote role based south Reading / London.

Job Description

As an External Account Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and expanding relationships with existing clients. You will be responsible for understanding clients' waste management needs, ensuring their satisfaction, and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross selling services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in account management, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of waste management processes.

Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with existing clients.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for client enquiries and concerns.
  • Understand clients' needs and collaborate with internal teams to exceed expectations.

Account Growth:

  • Achieve and exceed sales targets through effective account management.
  • Identify opportunities for account growth, upselling and cross selling.
  • Introduce new products or services that align with clients' evolving needs.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Effectively communicate with clients to ensure their needs are met.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to address client requests and resolve issues promptly.
  • Provide regular updates to clients on relevant products, services, and industry trends.

Data Analysis and Reporting:

  • Analyse client data and performance metrics.
  • Prepare regular reports on key account metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Utilise data insights to enhance client satisfaction and identify growth opportunities.

Experience Required

  • A genuine passion for sustainability, environmental conservation, and waste management.
  • Proven experience in waste management, with a track record of managing a customer portfolio in excess of £1 million.
  • A creative problem solver who can think on their feet and adapt to changing client and business needs and requirements.
  • A tenacious, driven, organised individual with excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation abilities
  • Comfortable using sales and CRM tools to track progress and manage leads.
  • Experience with CRM systems and solid understanding of MS office.
