- To support with circular economy policies and developments, both nationally and internationally, through engagement with members and other stakeholders involved in the field.
- To support the implementation for UK REACH for the UK automotive sector.
- To liaise and consult with member companies, government and key stakeholders on all relevant subjects and documents; to solicit member input to create an evidence base and draft influential proposals, positions, responses, papers and presentations as required.
- To represent all views at meetings of the relevant industry, governmental and stakeholder bodies in the UK and international arena and influence the work of relevant organisations’ working groups as appropriate.
- To provide regular technical information/circulars, briefing and support for members, colleagues and relevant committees and trade sections as required.
- To keep abreast of legal, technical, policy and commercial developments in relevant fields and deal with enquiries from industry, the public and outside organisations.
- Exposure working in a similar role, focussing on automotive sector or, environmental, engineering and science exposure
- Understanding of regulatory knowledge both UK and EU – including circularity, battery technologies and chemicals gained in industry, government or environmental consultancy.
- Effective communicator at all levels (written, verbal and presentational),
- Strong analytical skills, demonstrable knowledge and experience of at least one of the key dossiers, and of technically-based legislation in order to provide interpretation and guidance. Awareness of the commercial and environmental context.
- Good interpersonal skills, and ability to form good working relationships with people of varying backgrounds.
