About Us:

Wild by Tart is a unique multipurpose spacethat houses a neighbourhood restaurant, bar, events space, retail store and photography studio. Set in a former power station and coal store, the 9,000 sq. ft site is filled with natural light and is alive with plants and greenery.

Job Description:

Wild by Tart is looking to recruit an Events Head Chef to drive our events department both onsite and externally. Events range between 15 to 300 people, including private parties, corporate functions, weddings, andpress days.

To run all aspects of the events kitchen, from recruiting, training, leading, and developing the kitchen team, to managing and understanding food costs, stock control and health and safety labour, profit and waste margins and supplier management.

The role requires creativity, leadership, ambition, and a commitment to delivering events to Wild by Tarts standards while maintaining the companys sustainability ethos.

There are creative opportunities for bespoke menus.

Key responsibilities include:

Create, develop and cost all events menus seasonally in accordance with Wild by Tarts ethos

Oversee all kitchen operations daily for events and catering

Maintain quality and consistency through training, testing, and recipe specification

Working with the founders and the senior team to drive and develop the events business further.

Managing all kitchen health and safety compliance.

Making sure all food cost targets, and labour margins are managed effectively.Working with the Head of Sales and events to produce the yearly budgets for the business.

A level-headed, trustworthy, and reliable individual with a positive attitude and approach to work

The ability to work calmly under pressureand to maintain a positive working environment at all times

Someone creative to develop and evolve menus seasonally, and the ability to produce bespoke menus for a range of events. You will be passionate about the hospitality industry and current food trends, sustainability, sourcing, and seasonality.

You will need to be organised, with a real attention to detail for food service (quality, portion size, presentation, and consistency)

A passion for people, training and developing while maintaining Wild by Tarts workplace culture

You must have 2 years experience in a similar role.
