This maternity contract working for a professional body based in Central London, would suit a well educated (graduate or equivalent) with extensive experience of organising and managing business events. The events will include small CPD events for 20+ members, social events to enable members to engage with each other, large formal black tie events and a large annual conference. Events will be a combination of in person and virtual and will require you to be confident using Zoom, Teams, online events platforms and event management registration systems.

Being part of a small team, the duties will be very varied and will include: -

  • Producing event proposals and drafting event budgets
  • Working with the Manager to identify potential event sponsors
  • Identifying suitable venues, liaising with suppliers, procurement and legal teams where necessary
  • Organising event registration and ensuring event set up is complete
  • Preparing event advertising material and collateral, loading information onto website and social media
  • Attending events, gathering feedback and hosting debrief sessions with key stakeholders
  • Maintaining events calendar
  • Assisting Manager to draft and develop content for member communications and social media

Skills Needed:

  • First class communication skills - a natural relationship builder
  • Experience of managing events including creating budgets
  • Able to work independently and in a team
  • Able to contribute new ideas - curious, creative, imaginative
  • Good writing skills for reports, proposals, presentations etc.
  • Proficient MS Office skills
  • Experience of event and registration platforms and ideally SalesForce
