Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle & Gardens.

About the role and about you

We are a team of people who love and look after six of the most wonderful palaces in the world. We create space for spirits to stir and be stirred. From weddings to corporate parties and charity galas, we need a dedicated Events and Operations Manager to lead the Events team and maximise the commercial potential of Kensington Palace.

This role is about communication as much as organisation. You will work to continually enhance and promote the reputation of HRP as a world class portfolio of event venues by providing event organisers, clients and guests with faultless support and facilities.

You must be a self-starter and a quick learner with the ability to hit the ground running. Possessing the ability to work on your own initiative, you must be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to engage personably with all stakeholders. Someone who can work well in a team environment, you’ll also have excellent IT, communication, and interpersonal skills.

You’ll have proven experience of selling a venue and running events on an operational level. In-depth knowledge of the industry is essential and any knowledge of working within a heritage setting will stand you in good stead.

Finally, you must be prepared to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as and when the events schedule requires it.
